I’m right in the middle of baking a blueberry cake for a party tomorrow night. . . . but I just had to stop and let you know of an easy and tasty way to supercharge the health factor of your baking. Add wheat germ and flax seeds to the batter.
Pancakes, cakes, muffins, bread, whatever – I add at least 1/2 cup of each. Think of all that goodness – omega 3’s, fiber, iron, etc. – and no taste difference – well maybe crunchier and a little less sweet, but that’s a good thing.
Another way I make my baking not so evil, is reduce the sugar sometimes by as much as 2 cups. Do it to your taste. That’s it for now, gotta cake to make.
