Celebrate Columbus Day Christopher Columbus’ Spa Trip

Today, after dance class, I went to renew my tags and, surprise, the BMV was closed for Columbus Day. I had totally forgotten.

Christopher needs a haircut!
Christopher needs a haircut!

So I began wondering how to pay homage to old Chris’s landing. After an excruciatingly long voyage, exhausted and beaten down by salt air and seawater, he would definitely need some spa rejuvenation.

Since he anchored in the Bahamas, here are my predictions for Christopher Columbus’ spa jaunts at some of the Bahamas’ best spas:

One & Only Ocean Club

Voted 1 of the top 10 hotel spas by Travel and Leisure Mag.

Chris may have very well landed on the beach of this lush resort. What a welcome he would receive here. In the days when shade was the only sunscreen, Chris was surely weather beaten, so I know he’d have to go for the:

Elemis Soothing Sunburn Treatment

One and Only Way to Unwind
One and Only Way to Unwind

Inspired by a Tahitian recipe, fragrant Coconut and Frangipani flowers are blended together to produce a scented oil called Monoi to help soothe sunburned skin. The oil conditions skin while the body is cocooned in a foil wrap. Skin is then nourished with an application of Elemis Exotic Island Flower Body Balm, followed by a soothing foot massage.

Followed by a long linger in the lush villa garden while enjoying a Tea Ceremony with a selection of fresh fruit (gotta keep the scurvy away!) and use of the whirlpool bath.

then to liven things up, he may just meander over to:

The Mandara Spa at the Atlantis Paradise Island

Here he could rock out with the Jonas Brothers or Alanis Morrissette following:

Ocean Detox (considering how long he’s been at sea)Mandara SalonWhich includes Herbal Bath Synergy, Devils Mint Body Scrub, Sharp Shower, and Cellutox Active Body Concentrate. Finishing with a much needed shave and hair cut.

Happy Columbus Day everyone, See you at the spa, Candy
